if you pre purchase a game from steam will be available the same hour as it says?
or will it take sometime before you get it?
for example i pre purchased assassins creed 2. will it be available for me 00.01 to the 5th of march?
Not at midnight, probably around 3PM EST.

only difference is that the timer is gone from steam store

Could be the time for Valve HQ, though. So, that might be the reason.
