Anyone here got it? I guess you have to have an older generation iPod to have it because it hasn't been ported to the new Classics and Nanos, but I remember playing around with it when I had a Video.
I got it, and love it!
The best part is, that I don't have to use shitty itunes
I actually have it on my old 5G Video. It worked great. But the battery on it isn't really worth a damn anymore. It dies within minutes of a full charge.

Hurr bandwagon.
Winamp can be used without anything custom installed.

Winamp isn't much good anymore.

Try Floola then, standalone exe that you run straight from the device to add music and manage everything (also works with official firmwares).
Hah, what!?
Annoying to Install
No it isn't. It takes like 2 minutes and that's it.
Messes up your registry
No it doesn't. I bet your friend told you that.
Takes up RAM
Only when running, as all programs ever do.
Takes time to backup
Takes 10 seconds.

There are many problems with iTunes like speed and not allowing complete file management, but using it far outweighs dicking around with SSH and running around using alternative programs that corrupt the music library.
Really? Because it looks like you used to say that it could be better but it's better then using an alternative.
Yes, SSHing and moving music manually could corrupt something, and yes, iTunes does suck ass compared to, say, the Zune software.

Yes, like WinSCP.

You done repeating everything I say?
And you can plug it in to a friends computer, without being afraid of it being wiped by itunes, and with rockbox you have so much more control of your iPod.
And how can't love that you just need to drag and drop files, and that it also can play a lots of different file types.
The reason why i hate iTunes is that if the tag of the music file isn't correct, it can be hard to find music in iTunes and on your ipod.

They have fixed that problem now. I can use it for about 2 weeks now without recharging.
I believe he means that the battery itself sucks. Same happened to my old iPod Nano.:tiphat:
this reminded me to re-install rockbox on my first-gen ipod nano
its so champ
It's easy to install too.
