Write-protection on files being transferred to USB cannot be removed?

Hey there, I'm trying to transfer some music files and documents from my desktop to my laptop by putting everything on a 16gb, then putting it on my laptop.
This worked perfectly fine until some files were write-protected. No matter how many times I turn off "read-only" in the file properties, it keeps coming back.
I searched up other methods to get around this, and it worked for some of the remaining files, but there are still a few that I can't get moved.
So far, I did the cmd.exe method of typing in "attrib -r +s c:\filedestination" to no avail, then giving my user full control over every file on the hard drive (which worked for most files), but now I have a few left that won't budge.
Anyone have any sort of solution to this?
Fixed this myself, can a moderator close this thread/consider it solved, please.
How did you solve it?
Had to remove any important files on it and format it. For some reason, it had 1 megabyte of used date on, most likely corrupt, which I could not find through Windows Explorer. For some reason this prevented any new files to be copied onto the USB.Formatting did the trick.
