I've had BF3 for a very long time, I pre-ordered it. So I got it on release.
Ever since the start I've experienced crashes. So has my friend (though he doesn't play any more).
I've asked around and searched for answers before but never came up with anything that helped.
Before it used to crash, I would alt +tab and then ctrl + alt + del and shut down the game that way.
Well now, I can't even do that. Not only does it crash, but it freezes now. So I have to reboot the computer.
When it freezes it plays a loud buzzing sound aswell ... and that's the end of it, I have to reboot the computer.
I found this on a site .. a guy suggested this solution:
"alright so go to start >> all programs >> right click command prompt and run as administrator
in command prompt type in exactly >> bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500"
But thing is, I don't know whether or not the trust that. I think I should only tinker around with my settings if I know exactly what it's doing. Anyone know if this solution is safe?
Or in general, anyone know how to fix my problem?
Thanks
You can try general troubleshooting first.
Temp and specs:
Download HW monitor and keep it running while playing BF3 for 10 minutes.
Post results here.
Oh and update your GPU driver.

Also the fix only works on 32 bit systems.

I can guarantee you that this solution worked for me, it hasn't affected my PC otherwise. This made my game much more playable.
Another solution you can try is the BF3 Settings Editor, this program allows you to edit many more settings that you can't in-game, such as disabling DX11 effects, add an FPS limit, draw the FPS counter, and more.
Otherwise, you can try updating your drivers as the above user said, or turning down some graphic settings.
I hope this helps you out.
