Hi, I just got a new 5770, and I connected it to my motherboard (my motherboard has a PCI-E 1 slot, but it shouldn't matter, right?), and then connected my power supply to it using a 6 pin connector, but the darn thing refuses to show anything on either of my monitors. The two green lights on the top constantly stay on and the blue light flashes. The fans were going at full speed. I stick my x1950 Pro back in and it takes a while to get past bios, then it says one of my system fans isn't working (even though I checked and they all are?), but now also my USB mouse won't work right, so I'm stuck using my old PS/2 mouse. It took about 15 minutes to boot up to Windows, which is really odd for it, considering it only takes a matter of seconds. System specs, if you need them Core 2 Duo E4600 @ 2.4 GHz 2 GB of DDR2 RAM ATi x1950 Pro (ATi 5770 PCI-E 2.0 Card) ECS Alhena5 1.0 This is the card in question http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102868 So am I overlooking anything stupid? Should I connect my monitor to my motherboard first and perform that BIOS update they were talking about on newegg and hope all of my problems were just coincidence? Or should I RMA and explain my situation? I've never had a card do this to a computer, I don't know what to do! Thanks for your time! EDIT: Nevermind, BIOS update for the card won't work because I can't display through my motherboard's integrated card. I'll just RMA and hopefully this one was just a dud. I figure if it was something as simple as only having 720 shaders instead of 800 it would start up anyways.
Just read the reviews on the product page, they have a website and everything you can download the BIOS update from.
Sounds like DOA.
PCI-E 1 slot? Shouldn't it be 16, oh wait, it won't fit. Sorry.
PCI-E 1 slot? Shouldn't it be 16, oh wait, it won't fit. Sorry.
The 16 you are talking about is to do with the speed of the bus. Like you get x8, x16 etc
