• Gaming Build £700

Hey guys I basically want to build a new system from complete scratch that is designed for gaming. I want to be able to play new/current games on high/ultra high settings and I don't particularly want to go over £700. Required - Monitor (1920x1200 preferably, 21.5" - greater than or equal to, speakers not a necessity but preferable) - Keyboard - Case (Something with good airflow) - Motherboard (USB 3.0) - CPU (Intel or AMD, no preference really) - RAM (1600MHz) - Graphics Card (2GB) - PSU - Small SSD (Only for OS really, not a necessity) Everything such as OS, mouse, HDD and DVD drive I already have. I really appreciate any help you can offer, thanks!

I couldn't fit a 1920x1200 resolution in the budget, but the ips I put there is amazing.
Hey, I really appreciate you helping me out. Do you think this would be okay, instead of the i3? I know it adds a bit on to the price, but I am scared that the processor might fall short in comparison to the system... If you want an i5, get the ivy bridge 3570k: [url]http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i5-3570k1155-ivy-bridge-quad-core-34ghz-5-gt-s-dmi-650mhz-gpu-6mb-smart-cache-34x-ratio-7[/url] And it's cheaper. [url]http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/289?vs=288[/url] Thats a 2100 vs 2500k, which has very similar performance to the 3570k. If you got the cash, get the 3570k.
OEM cpus don't come with heatsinks though, so you have to factor a heatsink into price as well to get the 3570k

I can most likely accommodate the price. Also I have heard about the 3570k getting hotter than its predecessors. I may try over-clocking in the future, is over heating something I should be concerned about? Thanks very much for your time guys. [editline]0[/editline] Thanks QuikKill for the recommendations. I didn't see your post at the time of writing :P Do you think it would be better to buy the OEM and the Coolermaster Hyper rather than getting the retail one? I have a feeling that the retail heatsink won't be great.

This is with a corsair h60 cooler, which is a close enough for comparison. The hottest thing in my case is my 670, it gets to 75c sometimes. Your feeling is right, it sucks. Get the 212. [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] Money applicable of course.
Definitely going to go for the 3570k OEM then. Looks like my build is sorted. Seriously, thanks for the help guys. :) [editline]0[/editline] Hopefully the 2GB 7850 comes back in stock soon! :P
