Hello folks, I've got myself a budget of give or take 600 dollars, and am looking for a mid-level gaming PC. When I first made plans for a new computer I was going to buy an i5 2500K, but due to some circumstances I had to postpone, so I don't really know if it's outdated or what-not.
I have a monitor/keyboard/mouse/optical drive already, so those don't have to be in the build.
Oh yeah, I am in Australia.

P.S. I am moving from my school's i3 netbook, so almost anything will be an upgrade :)
You can get an i5-3570K for around the same price as an i5-2500K.
However, if you're patient enough, you could wait for Intel's Haswell chips to come out.
$600 is not going to get you far in Australia, gaming wise. I would tend to do a gaming build for around 800-1000.
