it's an awful poker game actually. Even in the first game it had shitty rules, broken gameplay, it was singleplayer only, and the main feature were these hats - people were literally buying packs of these games on multiple steam accounts to get all the hats hats hats all the hats

Regarding the items, I think they're a nice touch but I don't see them as the be all and end all.
Telltale have acknowledged the broken rules in the first one at Q&A's of The Walking Dead they've done, so they [I]should [/I]have fixed this.

i'm not going to deny that [I]loads[/I] of people pick these games up for the hats alone
but for others the main part of it is the writing, it's why i'm picking it up, personally
i mean it's five goddamn bucks so why not i guess

Yes, let's ignore the dialogue and interactions of significant nerd culture icons being the point of the game! Let's think the poker game isn't an excuse to have them in the same room!
As a fan of The Venture Brothers, having Brock in this gives me a reason to get it.
I don't really care about the characters. I love poker and I'm really looking forward to the new game modes. New TF2 items wouldn't be wrong.

I think the hours you've spent in TF2 and Borderlands 2 miiiiight be skewing your opinion of this probably ehhhh poker game.
Can't really deny that the main reason people bought the first one is for hats, this one isn't going to be different.

I think people who hated the first probably didn't know how to play Texas Holdem or didn't try the game.
