• Looking for a single monitor mount.. Advice needed

Hey all. Yesterday I grabbed a 27" monitor, and I'm looking for a way to mount my old 21.5" monitor with the limited desk space I have. Here is a photo of my current setup: [t]http://s12.postimg.org/xph6ot8kd/20141202_121350.jpg[/t] My desk is underneath my lofted bed, I have about a foot and a half of space between the top of my monitor and the underside of the bed. The black bars you see are supports for my bed. They are about 1 3/4 inches thick and 1 inch wide. I want to mount my 21.5" monitor above my main one, but I can't drill into the wall because it's a college dorm room. I can't clamp anything to the desk either because there is no protruding edge. If you can think of another way to mount my monitor, let me know. I'm open to ideas. I even considered hanging my smaller monitor by its base upside down from my bed :v: Suggestions? tl;dr I'm looking for a vesa mount that I could clamp to one of the horizontal bars seen in the photo
going to be hard to find something that will clamp, that is that small.. http://www.amazon.com/AVF-Monitor-Wall-Mount-Extendable/dp/B00L1FM7EA/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1417560616&sr=8-21&keywords=horizontal+monitor+mount maybe, but idk.

figuring you could drill into the supports, but highly unlikely. I can't find a clamp that will do you justice, our dorms let us drill, as long as we patch up when we moved out. kinda lame.
Well that's a shame. Thanks for trying though
You want something like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/360485111359?lpid=82 Why not just screw it directly into the two brace bars on the back of the desk? It should work fine as long as the monitor isn't too heavy. If you don't want to damage the desk, just fabricate a mount for the VESA mount to screw into and have it hang on the bars. I can think of a bunch of different ways using both metal and wood to make it work. The most secure way would be to use 3-4 U bolts and a like a 1" thick wood board that's tall and long enough to cover both rear braces.

Although I can't drill into the brace bars, I could probably work something out with a couple u-bolts as a matter of fact, I already have that mount you linked, I might be able to mount it on the bar by putting a piece of wood behind the bar and drill into that
