• What's the best Anti-virus?

I need a good anti-virus, I used to have Panda, but that's a memory hog, and Microsoft Security Essentials is too. Any ideas?
If MSE is a resource hog you may want to run hitmanPro or combo fix, I haven't seen MSE take up more than 50MB unless the system is infected or another AV(aka norton/sophos) is running beside it
Everyone recommends Avast.
Everyone recommends Avast.
I double this. Avast and Malewarebytes are the two i have. Both free and both amazing.
Out post http://www.agnitum.com/products/ cheap and really good, it even blocks dos
Personally I use Eset Nod32 Antivirus 5 and it does the job well.
avast! Hell, it can be configured to be so invisible that I forgot I was running avast.
god dang resource hog!!!!! oh it's too still, nothing. how little resources are you expecting it to take?
MSE has two processes running. Edit: Nice job editing your post after I posted mine and then rating me late :v:
He still has a point, though.
Common Sense 2012 Pro LOLOLOL xDDDD But no. Avast is what most people would tell you.
According to AV comparatives, Avast is better than MSE in detection while being almost as good with low resource usage. I should probably reinstall it actually (have been running with nothing since reformat).
Avast or NOD32, MSE is junk.
When comparing how light AVs are, why do people look at how much memory it takes? Does it matter if it's using an extra 30MB of memory when you have at least 2GB's of memory to play with? Surely the only thing that needs to be compared is the CPU usage?
I kinda like BitDefender, It's out of the way for the most part and you never really have to touch it. But that's just me, anyone else use BitDefender?
Noscript + Ad Block + Comodo. The first two prevent bad things from loading, and comodo is an anti virus / sandbox.
Noscript + Ad Block + Comodo. Their antivirus is still relatively new. Personally I use Avast! Antivirus in conjunction with Comodo's Firewall with Defense +, but only for the sandboxing.
I Use MSE, Seems pretty damn good but then im careful and take other precautions such as Adblock + no script and i monitor my network usesage and block most connections with peerblock Havent tryed much others

for what reasons? as this is information that could be helpful to the op and others including myself.
i like zonealarm
for what reasons? as this is information that could be helpful to the op and others including myself.
I personally don't like AVG cause I feel like it doesn't detect viruses very well nor remove them, I had AVG delete a virus 3 times and it still wasnt deleted, I had to download Mbam and avast just to get rid of it.
The best anti virus is common sense to be honest. I only secure my network with a hardware firewall blocking crap out.
I prefer AVG it works great and is free. Some others are Avast and Edwido, I belive both are also free. ____________ Frostwire (User was permabanned for this post ("Bot" - Swebonny))

Never missed a virus or anything malicious here. I personally love it. I do however it needs to cut down on system resources more for sure. Still not a big problem for my comp.

I didn't use an anti-virus for the longest time because it was unnecessary, my browser is sandboxed and anything that I downloaded and was malicious I could remove by myself. But I figured that MSE is so lightweight, and the fact that I don't even notice it's running is what made me use it. It sits idle in my tray waiting for some evil program to try to molest me and it stops it! Even though that hasn't happened (proves my point I don't need an AV) I still leave it running.
