is there any real reason to make first person and third person models and animations seperate now a days?
it sounds like it would be easier to just make a single animation/model that can be viewed from third person and first person, and the result would be less work and higher quality models for characters in third person

Using TFP / the same animations on third person & first person ( attaching the camera to the 3rd person player model ) gives a much bigger inmmersion and gives you body awareness but then you gotta deal with shit clipping into the world, make anims look good in 1st person view but dont look goofy in 3rd and so on
i prefer TFP but its not for EVERY game

It really is complicated to deal with technically.
and outside of technical implementations lots of fpv animations ignore things like magazine swap time and exaggerate a bunch of things
it would look ridiculous in third person
and third person guns rarely animate with the same principles of first person rigs
