• a couple of questions on the Ipad

So at the moment my usual laptop is somewhat falling apart in the seams and I'm thinking of getting a replacement. One of the considerations is an Ipad. Out of curiosity just how well does it fare in a university environment compared to let's say a netbook. Is it decent to write on with a stylus? Is the screen and keyboard good enough for typing. Just overall the generic questions from someone who's unsure if the device would be a good or a not so good buy.
iPad [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] Also, no. Get a netbook.
Don't bother, get a device which is actualy meant for productivity. Notebook or Netbook.
wait for the april refresh just to see what they add [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] then if you hate the ipad 2 get an asus slider tablet
I've had a quick go on the Dell inspiron duo, the mix of tablet/netbook is really, really good. If you're looking for productivity on a tablet device, i'd recommend it.
Not sure for educational purposes. But I know typing on them is perfect for a touch screen device. I haven't had a chance to get a reasonable personal opinion on them.
While I haven't used them extensively, I can say that the battery life would be great. Would feel that a netbook maybe a better choice as I know I personally wouldn't rely on touchscreens to type up essays and whatnot. You could go into an Apple store and try them out extensively or else consider a netbook.
They have cases with keyboards that are really cool actually.
[QUOTE=BluFox;28381322]They have cases with keyboards that are really cool actually.[/QUOTE] It still isnt going to replace a netbook running an OS which was actualy meant for productivity.
I would recommend a laptop instead. A lot of the netbook's keyboard are incredibly cramped and uncomfortable.
