• A good video editor?

I am currently looking for a nice, easy to use and good video editor. It needs to be more advanced than WMV, but still less advanced than After Effects. I tried LightWorks but it can't open any of my video files. I just need to make some quick text, make a nice quick intro too. Thanks in advance! Sony vegas.
Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere. Vegas is easier.

Sony Vegas 10.
Premiere is better if your card supports CUDA, you can get realtime editing with full res footage without transcoding to some intermediate codec
Thanks everyone who contributed. It seems Vegas is getting the most recommends, I'll try to find a trial of that. Is it easier than After Effects? I downloaded the trial, watched some videos on videocopilot, and tried to make a intro. It went like this. Spend almost 2 hours on making a cool text intro Render for 30 minutes Watch it when done, 20 minutes of pure black :v:
I use Powerdirector, it's very easy to use and flexible. One of the more underrated video editors, it's definitely worth a try.
Adobe Premier or Final cut pro. (not the new version)
