This has literally been in use for the entirety of USB's lifetime.

one time my USB got infected and gave a virus that made your screensaver into a BSOD every 1 minute of inactivity and did some nasty serious shit but luckily I found out the virus name. Except my history report was on it and my history teacher thought I was bullshitting him and just trying to get out of the due date, so he plugged it in against my warning and blam. Uberhacked.
