• Building a gaming server

USA I'm mainly looking for recommendations for a motherboard and cpu combo also a power supply I've already got some HDD and RAM laying around... The server would be running possibly two games at the same time Garry's Mod Minecraft and some misc games possibly (not all at the same time max would be two most likely just one) It will be mainly LAN but some connections from friends that live a bit away or out of state. Internet connection: Max Players online: 15 Budget I would like to spend about $ 300 but it's possible to spend more if need be

Most ISPs don't like home servers so internet's gonna cost a ton when they find out you're hosting a server I suggest renting one
It's not going to be running 24/7 it will be at random like two or three times a month I just don't see it being reasonable to pay for three or more game servers or a dedi when possibly it will get no use out of that month.

$300 is not enough to get a decent server. It would be more practical to use your desktop to host the servers. The build posted above is absolutely terabad. I wouldn't expect anything out of it. Save up or use what you have now.
