Is this a good build?

I didn't know whether to post in this in here or PC Building. Since this is requesting help, I assume it fits better in here.

A friend of mine is quite the gamer. He's looking to spend ~$400-$500 on a build from scratch or just buy one.

Question is, he found this rig for sale. I'm no expert on computing so I was wondering if I could get some opinions on this.

Is the computer in the above link great for today's standards of gaming and will it be outdated soon?

This would actually be better in the PC building forum. Technical support is more for a problem with software or an actual hardware problem like overheating or something not functioning at all.
