Basically what the title says, I do know quite a bit about computer hardware but im useless at putting it all together and managing to keep the budget, perfect scenario would be that i could have an i5 2500k cpu and a good graphics card and still keep the budget
Keeping anything ie DVD drives/hard drives?
Keeping anything ie DVD drives/hard drives?
nope
You know about the hardware so can't you even attempt to put a build together yourself?

No, I just have a budget of £500, and I only know how good everything is individually, and every time ive tried to make one its always ended up being about £800 which is too much, so im wondering if im overdoing it and putting stuff better than what I need
I must as where do you shop kind sir £500 (approx $638.90) should be plenty of money to purchase what you need

You can't just say £500=$638 worth of stuff here. Prices are different and the UK has VAT.

Yeah.. Every time i make one it ends up being £800, And i really really want to build one!! its so annoying

Bearing in mind VAT you only really have 400 quid to work with.
i5 2500k = not for £500. At least not at the current hard drive prices.

Thank you very much for helping but Im thinking it might be a better idea to save up some more and get something even better.
I agree.

retardedly unbalanced build
focus on core components, don't add aftermarket coolers, no need for a 750w psu

Thanks, that build actualy looks pretty good. Although i think im gonna save more and get a £800 build. So i will be getting a z motherboard. 8gb ram, slightly higher power suply to support better componants, i5 2500k and an nvidia card considering amd went bust. Probably a 550ti or a 560ti if i can afford it
a 550ti is really bad in comparison to a 6850, don't get it

Erm, What?
Erm, What?
Well im just going by what facepunch has told me, Not so long ago there was a forum on here saying that AMD are out of business. so its only intel on the market now for CPU, and ATI is owned by AMD right?

Also what website did you make that build on?
I highly doubt anybody on Facepunch has ever said AMD is out of business, they aren't. So unless you can link to that post don't say you're going by "what Facepunch has told me". They just released the fastest single GPU card on the market a few days ago.
Their desktop CPUs aren't doing very well, but they never went under. Their GPUs are keeping them afloat fairly well and their APU's are really good for budget builds where the user may do some very casual gaming.

You misread it.
What was going on was that (supposedly) AMD was pulling out of the processor market to focus on mobile processors. Now this was itself a misunderstanding, what actually happened is that AMD is simply focusing on mobile processors, it will still be in the desktop CPU market, but it won't be AMD's main focus.
Now, back on topic, this has nothing with their graphics business.

Ahh fair enough, yeah I must have misread it. actually im quite happy now as ive always gone for ATI cards.
