Left and Right Surround Sound Speakers not doing anything

Every since i got this computer, the left and right surround sound speakers have never made sound. The Subwoofer. Center, Rear Left, and Rear Right speakers all work correctly, just the Left and Right speakers don't. Confused.. :(

I hit my head on the shelf they're on and now the Rear Left/Right speakers don't work either... What the fuck? All I wanna do is use headphones, but when I plug my headphones (which work) into the speakers, they don't work, and when I use the headphones plug on the front of my PC there's just still sound from the speakers.

Are you sound settings in the Windows control panel set to use 5.1 instead of stereo?

When it's set to stereo there's no sound at all.
