Google Glass - finally available!

Hey guys, the time has finally come. Glass Explorers are finally being invited to order their Glass device.

Anybody else who ordered at IO? What's the first thing I should do when I put my Glass on for the first time? What Glassware are you going to write, or maybe you have an idea?

There any info on how much it will cost for consumers? I'm quite interested in it but I have a feeling that it will end up being nowhere near any price I could afford.

Absolutely no evidence of this, but we do know that they'll be trying to make it catch on, so it will likely be $200-$300 max. Any more expensive and nobody would buy it.

But once it does catch on, it's going to spread like wildfire, even faster than smartphones did after the iPhone.

The explorer edition (which this thread is about) was $1500, the consumer version, which is supposed to be out by the end of the year, should be "significantly less" and that's all we know.

i assume the thing still works when it isn't on your head

it's really hard to film it

the official video they posted a month back is exactly how it looks (just after effected in)

Sounds like something I wouldn't mind using a little bit of my savings on if it really is ~$200 or $300. Wonder if they'd let me wear it at my high school what with all the dumb privacy stuff they have to go by.

Probably not, you need to get a lot of permissions to film any students, so a video camera everywhere would be a bit of a nono. Besides, it's high school, it would probably get stolen/broken within a week.
