Fantastic game. I pretty much stopped after I got Guns of Icarus, but it's still well worth playing. If this revives the community, I'll probably hop on once in a while.
I still remember playing the mod for UT2004.

Guns of Icarus you're a member of a squad operating a flying tank, whereas in this you're a bunch of pirates clinging to a clump of two by fours and a cannon. I'd say it's faster and easier to get into, both short term and long term, but less competitive and social.

It does have boarding which Guns of Icarus does not, but you'll rarely get to do it and I don't know why people care about it so much anyway.

Yeah, it does make sense given the differences between the games; Guns of Icarus would be annoying as hell with boarding, whereas Air Buccaneers wouldn't feel right without it.
This reminds me of the TF2 Balloon Race map GamingMasters made. Had loads of fun on that so I'll definitely give this a try!
