Started a new game as the Venedians, the free colonization coupled with their consequence free farming is pretty great. Good unit rosters, but I haven't had a chance to get too far into it. CA's last bits of DLC for Attila have been pretty good I think, Empires of Sand in particular.
Slavs sound pretty OP. No snow attrition? No financial consequences for settling desolate lands? I haven't played much of Attila since I need to get a new graphics card but they sound like better Huns then the Huns themselves.

They get a great starting position that lets them turtle it out for a huge period of time, avoiding contact with oncoming nomads while keeping them close enough to central Europe to get trade routes. What the Venedians benefit the most from is the fact that they suffer no negatives from farming, meaning that squalor only comes from industrial/civil buildings within their territories. For a game that is heavily focused on food for the growth and stability of one's empire, the Venedians immediately have the upper hand. After a long period of time, the Venedians can venture off into the desolated provinces of Europe and immediately turn swathes of occupied territory into solely farm-related provinces without risking disease outbreaks. They may have a docked income from industrial goods, but that is quite quickly overcome by the sheer amount of cash you'll be making as you don't need to care about balancing your squalor as much as you would were you playing another faction. I haven't played the Sclavenians or Anteans, but I'm sure they have their benefits too.
Wow, he's even wearing a tracksuit authentic as fuck
Coming from Rome 2, is Attila worth it?
Coming from Rome 2, is Attila worth it?
Its better.
*snip*
You forgot the 100% increase to income from farming related buildings. Although as OP as they appear initially, I was not helped by the Geats, Burgundians and Alamans randomly declaring war on me like 20 turns in thus tanking my relationships with other Germanic kingdoms. Followed up by having three full stack hordes camping out my territory before finally deciding to torch one of my settlements.
