Processer: i7q720
Memory: 6gb ram
Hard drive: 500gb
Video card: ati 5860
1129$
Hp envy i believe picture soon
What is an ATI 5860? There is no card between the 5850 and 5870.
An i5 dual core would be better, the clock rate of the i7-720QM is only clocked at 1.6GHz. The i5-450M is clocked at 2.4GHz.
I would recommend Sager Laptops, they have a lot of very nice laptops.

Simply put, programs that are offered by companies other than Blizzard are considered to be cheats. I have been doing a crap ton of laptop comparing since all my college bound friends are getting one and this is the best for it's size (15"), weight (6 pounds), and power (quad core with turbo boost, 5730 graphics card which is better then the mobile Gt 330-360 series) and of course, price, which is under $1000. You can't get a better gaming laptop for under $1250.

He probably just mistyped 5850 or 70, no big deal.
No an i5 would not be better, clock speed is not everything in a processor, and if you really care about that, i7's have turbo boost up to 2.8 Ghz with some, the i7 is far superior.

300 dollars more for a 1080p screen? and a lesser video card then the laptop I linked? Well if you really like 1080p more then gaming I suppose it's an ok choice. well, and it's 2 pounds heavier and OP want's it easy to carry.

5870
i5
4GB ram
320Gb HDD
$1150
Pros: 5870
Cons: heavy
only 320GB hard drive,
5870 has shoddy drivers that half the time don't work (coming from several horror stories even with brands like asus since this is an ATI problem)
No reviews on it currently.

The i7-720QM is base clock of 1.60 GHz with turbo of up to 2.8GHz for a single thread. The i5-520M base clock is 2.4 GHz and turbo of up to 2.93GHz. Both processors have hyper threading so its 8 threads vs 4 threads. There is also a 10W difference so 20% less power draw.
I am of the opinion that a true quadcore is unnecessary in a laptop. It makes sense for a desktop replacement but not for anything you plan to take somewhere.

Games are starting to actually use all 4 cores now, especially with a gaming laptop it makes sense to have the most power you can get in a mobile package, at that price anyway. The core i5 mobile is already so much slower then it's desktop equivalent, how does that justify using it over a quad core that can use turbo almost as fast as it can?
Hmmm
