• "Fences" without Impulse?

Okay so I wanted to install fences. Here's pretty much what it does: It's free (unless you want to get a pro version but I'm okay with just free version), and I really wanted to use it to replace my icons on my desktop with. Problem is, recently they made fences require their Impulse client. Is there a way to get Fences without having to install impulse? Also, are there any desktop apps/gadgets for Windows 7/Vista that act has a "memo" pad or something? I used to use this thing back when I was running blackbox on XP called BBmemo that was great and very helpful for taking misc notes on stuff. I'm not talking stuff like the sticky notes, I mean a full fledged note-pad auto-hiding "widget" of sorts. Thanks! :)
Impulse is fine, you can even get their games with it, just download it, it's not that heavy either.
Why would they even charge for that?
I just took impulse off of start up
Why would they even charge for that?
They don't charge for it AFAIK, and the previous beta versions they had didn't require impulse [editline]11:32PM[/editline] Although it says for whatever reason it expires in november (the "beta")
