Cool that it came out, but the launch should have been bigger. Hopefully n64 games are close
So you can't do the PSN thing where the PS1 Classic you buy on PSP is also the same game for PS3 and Vita, with all the extra stuff with each version. Screw that, I got a lot of VC games that I will not buy again for near useless additions.

The NA launch is pretty pathetic. Only what, four new games? They keep counting the ones that were previously in the 30-cent deal, but those aren't new. And now they cost more if you missed the deals. Europe got an extra game, Mario's Super Picross, which I've coveted since it was on original Wii VC; it never came to the US. The Japanese VC launch is, of course, even beefier than both, examples including two Fire Emblem games, Xevious, and Ghouls 'n Ghosts. At least Europe got 60hz versions of everything. That's a step up and really shows that Nintendo is listening.
I'm sorry but I really don't care for the Wii/Wii U virtual console stuff. It's really good that it exists but honestly the 3DS virtual console is *better*. Being able to take it wherever really helps, also it has GB/GBC games, but the problem is that in it's current state it doesn't have any cool SNES/GBA/N64 games, so I guess the Wii/Wii U virtual console is better, but if SNES/GBA/N64 games came to the 3DS virtual console than it would be much better, any day. Also since the screen is smaller the pixels are smaller and it looks a bit more crisp.
I don't understand why they couldn't just throw in Earthbound to the NA launch.
I don't get the whole regional separation on the nintendo virtual console. Why can't i buy Super Mario Golf for the ds in Europe but people from North America can?
I can't find anything relating to the VC in my eShop, besides the Monthly 30 Cent games. I live in Australia if that helps work out the reason why.
Also since the screen is smaller the pixels are smaller and it looks a bit more crisp.
Actually...they aren't. Yeah, they're portable, but they're not as crisp because, for some reason, the display for NES games is slightly stretched horizontally. This means that they're slightly blurred and it ends up making the picture hazy. It looks especially terrible on 3DS XL. Seems like it'd be a very easy fix, but they keep putting out games with this issue and it's made me stop buying them. It hurts my eyes after a while because it makes my vision feel unfocused due to the blur. The 3D Classics like Kirby's Adventure have perfect 1:1 pixels, at least (and customizable controller binds, something regular 3DS VC games still don't have). GB games in 1:1 mode look good too, but their support for those are SO basic (no multiplayer, no SGB colors/borders) that I also find it hard to buy those, especially for $5~$6 a pop. Nintendo just isn't putting enough effort into VC on any platform, and it's sad; these old games are some of my favorite games of all time. This is their chance to preserve them in high quality and they're failing in so many ways.
I really hope they release Genesis games soon.
