After having his mobo die, my brother replaced it. It came in today, he put it in the case, connected everything and was about to install whatever's on the cd that comes with it....until he got a black screen. Like, that's it. It's the only thing he sees when he tries to boot. We've already swapped out GPU's, thinking it may be that, but to no avail.

Do you have the mobo speaker connected? if not connect it and post beep code if you hear one.
If it doesn't beep remove all RAM modules and listen again if it beeps, if it beeps your motherboard and CPU are alive and your RAM modules are kaput.
Actually, the damn thing seems like it's DOA, glorious.
How about posting more details like what MOTHERBOARD you have. But i think you have inserted the RAM modules into the wrong colored sockets.
