I managed to convince myself and a few other people that because my friend heard weird noises in his basement, that robots were to destroy the world with a doomsday device that would dig it's way down to the Earth's core.
Used to watch the Weather Channel as a pretty young kid a lot before it became a bloated mess, and I remember, very vividly, about one of the weathermen talking about how tornadoes are formed (the combination of hot and cold air, but I didn't realize there were other factors to it). Every time someone put on the AC in the house, I'd start panicking and run outside crying, and wouldn't come back in until my mom/dad coaxed me with sweets or something, in terror of the possibility that a tornado would begin to form within my living room. It wasn't until I was around 6 that I found out how tornadoes actually happen, and also that I'm almost certainly mentally deficient. In middle school, one of my friends argued with me that Mongolia, as a country, doesn't exist. Actually convinced me for a year that Mongolia was a fictional entity.
For the longest time I thought a pitcher retiring a batter by striking them out would mean the batter would be done for the rest of the game. There's still plenty I don't know about baseball, but I don't think I'll ever get anything else as wrong as I did with that.
That my life was going somewhere.
That my dad was going to come back from the shops with those cigarettes any day now
That 3D Holograms were possible, thanks Hollywood. I wish they'd stop putting them in movies, it's that one cool thing we'll never have.

Until like 2005 I thought that PC games were entirely exclusive to PC and had no console games. I'm pretty sure I believed this because I never saw PC versions of my PS2 games like GTA and vice versa with games like Toontown Online. What didn't help is that all my friends had consoles and some games like the Spongebob Movie Game was completely different on PC. I stopped believing this when I played the Sonic Heroes demo and it blew my 7 year old mind because it was just like on the PS2 Ironically these days I have a small collection of relatively obscure console ports of PC shooters, which includes a few of the games I had back then like Max Payne and Rainbow Six.

Virtual reality? Horseless carriage and no less self driving cars? Flying vehicles? haha, what a fucking dream, that'll never happen[/U] [editline]19th October 2017[/editline] if you showed a bunch of medieval crossbow wielding soldiers the raw power of an automatic firearm you would be considered an almighty powerful wizard
When i saw those drink drive go to jail signs i said "oooooohh youre going to jail" to my dad when he was drinking water and driving.
in mame/arcade emulators everytime you insert a credit the program takes a space off your program or uses more CPU. its like that one art game where you lose files from your computer if you kill aliens

2011 [QUOTE=J!NX;27528988]Homosexuality and bisexuality is perfectly fine by me, but surgically changing gender is... how do I put it... nasty? While yes, they're still human beings, but it's unnatural. Sure, you may be male, but accept who you are, if you want to act/dress like a girl so be it (Strange, but I must still accept you for being you). Just be moderate, and don't cut your dick off, and become some one you aren't.[/QUOTE] haha who the fuck is this idiot what a gigantic shit po- o... oh [editline]20th October 2017[/editline] I don't even know how I could have thought something this dumb At this point I'm openly gay on the internet and understand the full spectrum of LGBT's mentalities
For some reason I thought that they had to re-film the whole movie for every VHS copy. It made sense to me because actors are paid so much - It MUST be because they have to do so much work for every movie, with all those copies being sold!

[QUOTE=J!NX;52806013]Oh lets see those details[/QUOTE] It's in the past man
[QUOTE=RobL;52806584]It's in the past man[/QUOTE] Of course, I totally respect letting go of that shit Personally I like to laugh at my past self to see how things have changed around me and how I worked mentally back then [editline]21st October 2017[/editline] It lets me really understand the kind of psyche of dumb shit by looking at what I believed and diving back into it, understanding whats wrong with it its what I try and base a lot of my humor on I understand stupid shit I say, or what others say, then try to parody that [editline]21st October 2017[/editline] I've been thinking about how amusing it would be to collect as many old posts of mine and make a guide on how to not post, and totally smear myself but that'd take a huge effort.
I used to believe in a better world
I used to believe that Vietnam was in the US, as I always heard about it in the context of some US war v:v:v
I remember talking with my uncle once when I was like 10 years old, and asked him about how everyone life was when they were children, then he said something like this: "At some point, we were all babies" I felt really confused and I wondered "Then, who took care of those babies?" Uncle: "Their parents" I was still confused because I imagined that literally everyone was a baby. Parents were babies and their children were babies too, so at some point earth was a planet filled with nothing but babies. I pictured babies fighting wars, driving buses. Mother babies receiving their husband babies after work, school teachers being babies teaching other babies. and babies taking care of babies. It sounded like a weird society.

One time in primary school (like 7 years of age) the way of rewarding good behaviour in my school was called giving smiley faces which meant smiley face stickers, I misjudged that and went around all day with a huge fake smile trying to get my rewards.
