While I think the EA hate is a bit over the top, so too are you. It's not hard to believe that when EA shuts down and/or guts multiple studios (Bullfrog, Origin, Pandemic, Westwood) and [B]wholly owns Popcap[/B], that something like this would come from the top.
That said Wikipedia says they employed like 400 people. 400 for casual games! Sounds like the downsizing was needed.
Why would they lay anyone off? They're not in any financial trouble.
