I thought music needed some love too. I personally love ska, swing, jazz, experimental and progressive rock, basically anything that is well thought out, sounds good or unique. Jazz, Electronic, Minimalistic.
rock ,pop, post-rock, post-punk, indie rock, shoegaze, alternative, downtempo, krautrock, ambient, experimental, some hip-hop and metal
Hardstyle/Hardcore/Dubstep/Drum n Bass
Hard dance and all the sub genres
I like a lot of stuff. I like a lot of Symphonic Metal but I don't like it all. but I like Nightwish, Pain, Evanescence, Epica, t.A.T.u.
Electric Light Orchestra, Apoptygma Berzerk, Muse.
Anything that isn't on mtv really. VH1 is even more generic :[ Bob Dylan, Moby, Josh Ritter, Louie Prima, and Beck are some good examples of my favorite music.

Jazz, Instrumental (some, like classical and orchestral pieces), Funk, Alternative and Indie Rock (sorta), Wolfmother is as heavy as I go. Lately I've really been into Big Beat, gotta love sick drum beats.
