I'm a newbie to Facepunch. Just some random question here: What are bumps and snips?
snip is a deleted post and a bump is to move up a thread
Usually people snip stuff if they have second thoughts or to avoid embarrassment. A good way to combat snipping is to quote someone, as even if they snip it, the quote will still be there.
A bump is when you post in a thread to put it on the first page again, usually happens in threads that have died out. And on Facepunch you can't delete your posts, a snip is pretty much a way of deleting your post.
Ooooooooh... Thanks Facepunch. Umm, I want to "bump" one of my threads. How do I do it? Or should I just make a new one? (I'm asking some questions in the PC Building section, so should I just make a new thread for a new set of questions?)

I've never understood "bump"
Because you bump it up to the top of the thread list as a thread with a new post, hoping someone else will post.
If you want to bump your old thread -click your username -click "Find all threads posted by...(your user name here)" -click on your thread -post in it I suggest you just make a new thread. People will see your problem is unanswered, and they might try helping you more.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
