And I don't really know what to do to actually get my computer to play Blu Ray movies again.

I went to the downloads page and installed that firmware. What kind of program do I need on my computer (I assume something was included in that disc) that will actually play the movies? Or, more accurately, is there anything that I won't have to pay extra money that will play the blu-ray movies?
Sorry if this is really simple, I just don't know anything about Blu-ray.

So, like I asked, do you know of any good free blu ray playing software?
Lol having an instal disk for a disk drive.
Blu ray is just a large capacity dvd which uses a different laser, any program should play it, provided that your computer is fast enough to handle the data rate. (As in can translate it to non stuttering video)
Very incorrect. BD is a completely different standard from DVDs. You need specialized HD players (like Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 HD) that can decode the complex DRM scheme used on BD movies.
Windows also can't read the contents of BD movies with explorer without using proprietary drivers installed with an HD media player.

Ok fixed.
I came to that conclusion because I could play it just fine on my laptop. (which apperrently already has the drivers installed)
