• Help with fixing a Heatsink mount

I have an old Blue Orb cooler II lying around that a friend wanted. Upon trying to install it we came to realize that one of the two mounting brackets (for LGA 775, image below) had had its threading stripped. So my question is, do they make nuts small enough that I could attach one to the bottom of the standoff so it doesn't fall out of the stripped bracket? The mounting bracket I'm referring to is imaged below (it's the silver things in the bag in the middle) I've tried looking for nuts but I'm not even sure of the diameter I should be searching for.
Best not solving the problem yourself, I had a 120-Extreme and the plastic bracket I had failed, and I improvised with heighten copper screws, like you use when installing a mobo onto the case, and failed becuase the pressure needed to have from the heatsink to the CPU was never met (led to heat problems). Plus the actual nuts came off, I was pissed. You can try, but If nothing you do works, order another bracket from the manufacture, preferably a metal one if they have it

Do you have any idea what size the nut would be in diameter if I go that direction? I have no idea what the sizes are since I have nothing to measure it with.

Or, (presuming it's inch/cm) http://engineershandbook.com/Tables/nuts.htm
