I mean, technically speaking, with prices/looks aside, yes, it is indeed a fairly powerful laptop
It's a very good laptop, but I would suggest buying a cheaper laptop, like $600-$1000, and building a great gaming desktop computer with the difference.

It's shit. Resolution is way too low for a laptop this price and for this purpose. GPU could be a good deal better, too.
it's a sub-15'' laptop so the resolution is fine for that size
and that 555, just because it says optimus doesn't mean it's weak; it's actually around the performance of a mobility 5850

I have to look into Nvidia's mobile cards then. Fot that price (and meant for gaming) 1440x900 would be to prefer.
