So my pc broke down for the 3rd time this month (First cpu than twice the motherboard) so instead of repairing the damn thing for the 4th time im going to stay with my laptop and sell the seperate pc parts. How-ever I want to upgrade the ram of my laptop, currently it has 6GB and I want to upgrade to 12GB or 16GB I know that for gaming this is way to much but since im a heavy video editor I need that to work optimal. (My pc had 12GB of ram) But yeah i've never upgraded my ram (on my laptop) before so I have no idea where to start, I do know that I need the smaller size of ram and that my laptop only has 2 slots so I need 2 strips of 6GB or 2 strips of 8GB. I'm buying my RAM at http://www.amazon.co.uk/ so i'm wondering if one of you guys that know what he's doing could link me to the page for the right ram. Thank you very much and if you're wondering what cpu/video card my laptop has: Intel i7 2nd gen 2,9GHZ Nvidea GT555M 2GB 6GB ram

If only two, 8GB dimms are still quite expensive. 2x4GB kits are cheap now. If you're willing to spend 100-150$ just for ram, then go right ahead to grab 2x8GB kits, just really depends on if your motherboard supports 4.
It only supports 2 dimms, this is the only 2x 8GB i've found is it really that rare? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Komputerbay-PC3-10600-1333MHz-204-Pin-9-9-9-25/dp/B00698WP50/ref=sr_1_39?ie=UTF8&qid=1325704809&sr=8-39

You'll need to post the laptop Make/model to get an answer
