PC finally started up after two reboots after I couldn't get into safe mode
Get your shit together nvidia

Oh jesus, nope.avi I'm not even touching those drivers now.
I did express install and it worked fine
To the person with shadow the edgehog avatar who reposted the above video to the Nvidia forums: No, it doesn't "break" safe mode, I just couldn't get into it by pressing F8, the PC booted up, screen started flashing again, restarted, couldn't get into safe mode again then it started up properly.

For the record I have Windows 8.1 and a GTX 970, anyone with this combination might want to hold off with installing these drivers for a while
Took me half an hour, while the monitors worked fine, although it kept fucking around with detection, I just plugged in the HDMI into my motherboard to be safe
Uninstalled all nvidia, including geforce exp.
Reinstalled geforce, downloaded the update, custom installation, install as clean slate
all good
I am that guy, I posted it just to rile up people a bit to see what everyone else has to say.
As long as multiple people don't report issues I will install it but for now I think I will stay on this one, I have never installed geforce experience due to so many issues people posted about. It looks like bloatware to me.

It's not really bloatware, but it's not required either.
I only use it for Shadowplay because it's pretty much the best thing a graphics card company came up with in the past ten years or so

what about gsync or whatever? :v:
I should start using Shadowplay, OBS is dying on me recently

G-sync also sounds great, but I'm waiting for a 144Hz 4K monitor with G-sync support to come out first :v:
It's gonna cost a fortune, but it'll last me forever

Mine seems to work fine on express too. peculiar issue for others
I have never updated to brand new drivers for new releases and performance never seems to be terrible for me. Kind of an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality.

Some drivers also get rid of bugs, etc.
Sooooo what's the verdict on these drivers? Seems like some people have issues with them... hold off I guess?

Never experienced any, and apparently I would with these drivers!
Didn't get any problems at all.
this driver messed up some of my nvidia inspector settings and disabled DSR make sure to check stuff like that
Messed it up but got it working by rebooting and downloading it manually.

the new AMD driver messed up my desktop icons. now I have to carefully rearrange them again.
I remember when these game ready drivers used to actually improve performance and not just add a sli profile every time.

I don't understand why you're getting so many dumbs. I always wait a week after release to update my drivers unless I'm currently experiencing issues with the version I'm on. I very rarely experience issues on the version I'm on though because I do the intelligent thing and wait a week to look for bugs.

Try and use a previous stable version where you didn't have any issues. Up until now I didn't update OBS because NVENC would output a black screen, but now it's finally fixed.
I prefer OBS over GeForce Experience/ShadowPlay because not only is it lightweight, but you also get more control over your stream settings and layout.
