• Quad core under clocked?

Yeah i just got my set up finish and cpuz is showing my cpu clocked at 1.2 mhz. Shouldnt the base clock be at 2.6 - 2.7 with a core i5-750 ? picture is hard to see but its says core speed at 1202. 4 Mhz
Sometimes my Athlon goes down to like 800MHz. I don't know why though, but if needed it goes back to 2.6GHz
Not sure, but i think its called speedstep, it clocks down when its not in use
intel turboBoost look at how your PC will be clocked during Cod 5, it will be even OVER the factory clock.
Not sure, but i think its called speedstep, it clocks down when its not in use
This. You can turn it off in the BIOS, but it doesn't really do any harm unless you're overclocking.
well i just got my i5-750 OC @ 3.6 ghz
If you got it stable, i think you safely can turn on speedstep, if you have it turned off now
If you got it stable, i think you safely can turn on speedstep, if you have it turned off now
That would really bug me. I would never use speedstep.
That would really bug me. I would never use speedstep.
Yet you use cool n quite. :downs:
it downclocks the core when not in use, saving power, I really don't see a downside to speedstep/cool n quiet
I keep speedstep on. It's good to have.
Question to i5 750 owners. How much does your CPU overclock when in games? My goes like 2800 mhz, but I've never seen it further.
Question to i5 750 owners. How much does your CPU overclock when in games? My goes like 2800 mhz, but I've never seen it further.
It'll only overclock a small amount. I've turned off Speedstep/any other junk, and just have my i5 overclocked to 4.0GHz.
I got to 3.6ghz, with my oc genie button on my msi bored.. running a cool 35oC under idle and 60 on load
