Hey guys, I'm running Citrix XenServer for multiple virtual machines and the sole reason I started using this is 1) IPTables and 2) I can split servers for linux and windows.
However I'm having a stupid issue that Citrix decided to introduce in version 5.6, They seem to have removed a few modules which were included which I require and I have no clue on how I am able to make the kernel include them again. I can not downgrade to 5.5 which is another issue.
Can someone provide me some details on how I would go on about installation all the removed modules which XenServer 5.5 included into 5.6?
Thanks, I appreciate any help!
Welcome to citrix, you should have gone with VMware
1 ESXi has firewall(I believe based off IPTables) after ESX 4
2. Can do that

I want to run Linux IPTables to block UDP Spam, etc from accessing any of my virtual machines which are Windows and both Linux, I mean I have no trouble running iptables off the virtual linux's but windows suffers when I get attacked by DDoS :(

Why not run a VM doing that are route stuff through the virtual network?

you might be surprised at how nice ESXi's firewall is

I had a perfect setup on citrix, I just need these modules installed and included by the kernel and I'm all good to go.
Can anyone help?
Why exactly are you using Citrix XenServer, rather than just using the plain-old open source Xen under something like CentOS?
I run a bunch of boxes with Xen on CentOS, and stuff like iptables is installed by default, works great.
Whats the difference between Xen and XenServer, my provider only supports XenServer 5.6 for virtual box'es :S

If this doesn't work for you, your implementation is flawed. You'll find more support for CentOS than you will for Citrix to boot.
Set up Vmware it is way more secure than Citrix
