Keep working on that damage control, Microsoft. They've definitely got some good games coming but let's not deny that someone dropped the ball here. Like it or not, when the general public find out their competitor is getting more power for less cost (or Microsoft's worst nightmare of PS4 getting the better version of multiplat games), that's a rough place to be in.
All that in mind, the fact that Infinity Ward couldn't get Ghosts running at 1080p 60fps on a next-gen console is an embarrassment. There's literally nothing about Call of Duty that warrants that kind of lousy performance.
In the comments.
"Yes, we built a gaming console that isn't as powerful as the competition. But we think you might like to watch TV and Sports on it."
You hit it right on the nail, Master_Disaster_17.
Still not as bad as the WiiU.
"What, you want me to release a demo so you can talk about the actual game? Hell no, look at this trailer instead! Look at it in all its HD glory!"
Still not as bad as the WiiU.
WiiU isn't a direct competitor to the PS4 or Xbox One though. Nintendo kind of exists in their own little space right now.
What a retarded statement.
"Why is this aqua world nothing but a fish tank and starfish?"
"well does it matter? You're here to see the fish, not for anything else!"
Alright maybe not a good example, but how the game looks is part of playing it and enjoying it, and the resolution is a factor in that.
Still not as bad as the WiiU.
Um, every Nintendo game is running at 60fps and 1080p.
Still not as bad as the WiiU.
But the wii u is actually alright for specs.
Or are you doing that thing where we point and laugh at Nintendo for not being part of the "console war"
Still not as bad as the WiiU.
Nintendo has different Target Audiences.

Well I mean things are going pretty horrible for the wii u at the moment. I own a wii and I probably liked 1 or 2 games on it, the wii u is definitely not any more appealing. Brawl felt terrible, like the game had just been dumbed down to the point of just being a flashy show with little game to it and mario at this point has completely tired for me. Red steel 2 was really fun because it used the controller design really well for the gameplay but I wouldn't buy a wii u for another red steel game alone
It sounds retarded, but the market can be fickle. One might think that performance and core features makes a winning product, but the PS2 had the among the worst performance of its generation and came out on top of account on having the non-gaming feature of DVD playback.
It'll probably tank, though.
I've never seen Microsoft so afraid of money.
Well, if I go by your logic, Microsoft, I shouldn't buy a new console.
I'm sorry but if i'm deciding if i want to part with my hard earned money i'll decide it on whatever factor i fucking want to.
Telling the consumer that they're wrong or need to adjust their views is a big marketing and advertisement no-no.
Um, every Nintendo game is running at 60fps and 1080p.
Nope. I'm a Wii U fan and even I know that this is made-up. Every first-party Nintendo game on Wii U so far has been 720p, with the exception of Wind Waker HD...which runs at 30fps.
In fact, most Wii U games run 720p or lower. The only known true-1080p games are Rayman Legends, Monster Hunter 3G, and Wind Waker HD.

Nintendo has said it many times that it runs at that. And they dont mess around.

You can't go on the company word for resolution. Microsoft and Sony will tell you that loads of their AAA games run at 1080p when really they just output at 1080p upscaled. That's what the Wii U does.
All you have to do for confirmation is ask the pixel counters: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1676919&postcount=5
I myself could tell that NSMBU and W101 weren't full 1080p becuase I have a huge 1080p TV and can see when pixels are blurred from being scaled up.
"You look at high-end PC games right now. If you were just looking at screen resolution and framerate, you'd be a PC gamer. Because you can spend $800 on a video card and put it in. I've built those rigs. I can play those games. And I understand that. But that doesn't mean the best games are there. It doesn't mean it's the best all-in-one experience."
The best games might not be there (ahem), but it sure is everything else Xbone is and way cheaper.
I love how companies shift their positions like this, even Sony and Nintendo have been guilty in the past.
"OUR CONSOLE IS THE MOST POWERFUL, WELCOME TO THE NEXT GEN BITCHES!!"
[console is noticeably not the most powerful]
"W-well it's not about the power, it's about the games! D-don't be so superficial! Who wants Mountain Dew™?"
[console has shit games]
"Well uh... at least you can... watch TV on it? Please give us money."
No, I'm gonna play the resolution.
Well, if I go by your logic, Microsoft, I shouldn't buy a new console.
They once said "just get a 360."

i can't decide if this is sad or funny or both
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 = 880x720 (2xAA)
Jesus fuck.
but they can play the games, at 1080p on the PS4 for $100 less!
Jesus fuck.
somebody confirm they didnt fuck up the numbers in that post
seriously?!
I heard Captain Oblivious got a job at Microsoft recently.
He's working in PR.
Yeah I stick $800 graphics cards in my PC. I love me some 1080p/60fps.
Power is a subjective term.
No it isn't.
