a few days ago i was using my computer and everything was working just fine. i turned it off and went to sleep.
the next day, after turning the computer on, the sound in my computer simply wasn't working. i tried connecting my speakers to
a different computer and on that computer they worked. when they are plugged in to my computer, or even when i plug in any other speakers
to my computer, they simply don't work. the same thing applies to headphones.
i tried updating my sound drivers but windows says they are up to date
When you play music and check the volume bar in the bottom right, do you see the green bar going up and down showing sound being played?

It doesn't sound like the sound drivers are broken but you should try reinstalling them
