• Should I buy my friend's 8600gts?

Hey there everyone, I was wondering if it would be worth buying a 8600gts for $15. It's his brother's old card and he offered it to me. personally, $15 seems like a bargain. this card is mostly just gonna hold me off until I get my new build. Plus I hear you can pair it with a ATi card with a special mod so I can have a PhysX card. BTW, my current card is an ATi X1550, which anything has to be better than that.
I'm your friend.
It's only $15, go for it. And no, you cannot use it as a PhyX processor with an ATI card
Good deal. Should be able to play modern games quite normal Edit : Whats 15 bucks? a good backup gpu can always come in handy

Didn't someone find a work around for that patch?
Great deal.

I could be wrong though.

You don't need that motherboard, there is driver to download that will let you pair it, they were talking about it not to long ago.

Sweet, How will this card fair in the source engine, any estimates on fps?
Found it http://www.ngohq.com/graphic-cards/16223-nvidia-disables-physx-when-ati-card-is-present-30.html#post82837 The install is a bit tricky, but it works.
I'm your friend.
Oh really now, name please?
I still have an 8600 even though I'm going to buy a 5770 soon. It can still run most new games today, but at low.
Whoopsies, apparently it's only an 8600gt. What's the difference?
It's only $15, go for it. And no, you cannot use it as a PhyX processor with an ATI card
I currently have a 5770 with a 8600gts running as a dedi physx card.
yeah buy it it's not a terrible card, but for 15 dollars it really is not a horrid deal.
