I reinstalled Windows one day and forgot to back up my Dark Souls character saves. RIP a few hundred hours of slaughter and pain.
having to reformat my ps3 only save i had backed up was Budokai HD because I was trying to copy it to a friend's console
I had my first two consecutive runs of deus ex human revolution end by save corruption like 80% through the game
My "friend" started a new game on my Pokemon Crystal and saved it out of spite. RIP my shiny Ho-Oh, Lugia and Vaporeon.
I had a small PS2 memory card and only one of them so I could only play about 8 games at a time and I would always have to delete saves to make room for new games. Was barbaric times.
My older brother once unlocked all the playable characters in Diddy Kong Racing, only for me to accidentally erase the save because I was an idiot kid who didn't know better. EDIT: I also tried to get the data off my PS4's old hard drive, and then promptly learned the hard way that plugging straight into your PC properly fucks the formatting on it.
I remember the PS2 version of the Sims games claiming nearly an entire cartridge.
I bought a 128MB recently solely because SmackDown: Just Bring It takes up 4MB, which would be half of the standard card.
