My first motherboard died and so I'm getting a new pc built up and I'm also here to post the specs to see what you guys think. I only had to replace to Motherboard, the memory and CPU and I didn't want to get anything to expensive as my parents were buying it (I have to pay off)
and I also didn't see the need for a new graphics card as it is quite new.
Motherboard: gigabyte890GPA - UD3H
- DDR3
- AM3 Socket
- Supports CrossfireX
- Supports Am Phenom II/Athlon II processors
- Dolby 7.1
- Hdmi/DVI Output
Processor: Amd Phenom II X4 925
-2.80 GHZ
Can't list rest of the specs because I don't have them right in front of me.
Memory:
- 2GB Corsair DDR3 (This is a new kit that just came out)
- 1666mhz If that sounds wrong correct me
Power:
- 600w BigAnt
- CrossFireX Certified I think)
Hard Drives: These two drives are from previous system, so they aren't new.
500GB Western Digital Caviar Green
250GB Hitachi
Graphics: (from previous system as well)
ASUS GT 240 DDR3 1GB PCI-E
Case: Antec 902

The shop is waiting for the motherboard and the memory to come in and all up it will be
$833 aust dollars. It should be put together this week sometime.
Wait so what did you buy new that totaled 833 dollars?
[editline]02:34PM[/editline]
If it was only the motherboard/CPU/RAM, you got ripped off by about 380 bucks

The bastards.
Also those sites say internet price and retail price. The internet prices there are cheaper.
Its "internet price" meaning, if you just rock up to their store, and be like "I need an amd phenom 925" they charge you 10 bux extra because you didnt do it online.

I hardly think thats going to matter when the stores website has nothing on it besides a list of all the brands they use.
You bought this stuff before anyone gave advice??
Should have got that stuff for the prices Bladerunner and got a 5770 or 5850

Well at the moment theres a computer shop near my house, one time dads work computer died, i wasnt home, he took it there in sheer desperation, paid 110 dollars for "experss service" meaning his computer was put first in line to be fixed, paid 170 bucks for a 100 dollar motherboard, and then he needed new ram... and so on and I thought "well i could do that"
i have a bit of money which would be enough to at least start a buisness

Oh well it wouldn't be much use to me then. I'm on the other side of the country.
Another thing, is the HD 5770 better than the GT240? I see it's also cheaper. At $109.

Sell to your cousin? That's not how you treat family :eng101:
protip for your next build. If you want to save as much money as possible go with last-gen intel or current-gen AMD, and for GPU's ATI.

This gen intel is fine.

I doubt I will be getting a new build anytime soon. I am also planning on going for the HD 5770 and maybe put it in crossfire.
