Taken off SA, but I thought it was interesting http://www.smh.com.au/world/hitlers-39-living-relatives-revealed-20090915-fo86.html
THIRTY-NINE living relatives of Adolf Hitler have been discovered by a customs official and a journalist who claim to have decoded the Nazi dictator's DNA. Analysing forgotten cigarette butts in a small village in lower Austria, a used paper serviette in a New York fast-food restaurant and the seals of letters sent over 30 years ago from northern France, Marc Vermeeren and Jean-Paul Mulders said they had traced all known living relatives of the Fuehrer for the first time. As well as three living in America, whose existence has been reported previously, they claim to have tracked down 36 others who still live in the wooded area of Austria where Hitler was born. Mr Vermeeren, a Belgian customs official, and Mulders, a journalist for Belgian newspaper Het Laaste Nieuws, said three great-grandchildren of Hitler's father, Alois, lived on Long Island, outside New York, under the false name Stuart-Houston. They are descendants who left Germany to escape the Nazis. Louis and Brian Stuart-Houston share a little wooden house in East Patchogue, where they work as gardeners, while Alexander is a retired psychologist who helps Vietnam veterans. The Belgians said they had watched them for seven days and nights, following 60-year-old Alexander to a fast-food restaurant where he disposed of a paper serviette after eating fried chicken that they retrieved and later matched with ''DNA of Hitler that we keep in a sealed, armoured chest'', according to Mulders. The cigarette butts came from Hitler relatives in Austria, they said. ''The American relatives have agreed not to have children to extinguish the saga of Hitler and stop living in fear, but have promised to publish a book before they die,'' said Mulders.
This I found particularly odd:
The American relatives have agreed not to have children to extinguish the saga of Hitler and stop living in fear, but have promised to publish a book before they die
Tracking down Hitler's Descendants and preventing them from breeding to eliminate the Hitler gene. Ironic?
What? That's not fair. You can't just force innocent people to stop breeding to extinguish a "saga". They aren't going around lynching Jews and Gypsies, are they? It's bullshit.
Maybe he's just ugly and can't get a girlfriend and is using an excuse?
i wanna meet one of them
i wanna meet one of them
They're probably just regular people.
What a load of bullshit.
So a customs official and journalist claim to have Hitlers DNA and so happen to pick out some guy in New York who matches his DNA? [editline]07:46PM[/editline] It costs around $50,000 to decode DNA.
Costs $50,000 every time you decode DNA? Or is the equipment for it worth 50k?
Oh wow the article says that they stalked them for a week. I would sue those bastards for all they're worth
It doesn't cost 50,000 per test. The equipment does.
It doesn't cost 50,000 per test. The equipment does.
Yeah, that's what I meant. When IBM's new invention comes out, it will be even cheaper.
Bullshit.
If someone asked me such a thing the first thing I would do the next day was donating sperm to one of those clinics just because I love doing the opposite of what people ask me to :buddy:

Testing DNA does not cost 50,000 dollars. I have done many gel electrophoresis in bio to know this.
How are they living in fear for being a relative of Hitler? "We might give birth to another Hitler!!!" Load of shit on both ends.
I was hoping for pictures. :frown:
Do you think they knew they were Hitlers relatives?
Haha, one of them is a Vietnam vet shrink. "You think you've got problems? I'm a descendant of Adolf Hitler."
Isn't it swell that the US taxes are spent on stopping the hitler gene, even though stopping it makes no scientific sense what so ever. Lucky i live in England
Well now that's quite the invasion of privacy. Also, why the fuck are they going to this much work? If you think it matters who's related to hitler, then you're as bad as he is, master race and social darwinism and all.
I guess my great great aunt marrying him doesn't make me related. :v:
I guess my great great aunt marrying him doesn't make me related. :v:
Fuuuuny Guy
They're forgetting that Hitler escaped through the secret doorway in the Fuhrerbunker, hopped on a plane/U-boat, and had two children with Eva in the Alps/Antartica.
You've misunderstood. The relatives made a pact among themselves to have the gene die out. It was their choice.
You've misunderstood. The relatives made a pact among themselves to have the gene die out. It was their choice.
It's still unfair that they have to end their genetic line like this...
You've misunderstood. The relatives made a pact among themselves to have the gene die out. It was their choice.
Pretty pointless. All it serves as is closure.
How are they living in fear for being a relative of Hitler? "We might give birth to another Hitler!!!" Load of shit on both ends.
Because some people are full of hate and anger, and are extremely irrational, and might do something stupid. How do you think the average (dumb) people would act towards you if they knew you were a descendant of Hitler?

In an idiot infested region, probably with harsh words and slight violence. In a rational, understanding region, they would probably think nothing of it, since you didn't actually carry out anything that your grandfather had.
