What is the best possible PC that can be built from scratch? I thought it might be interesting to know. Post your suggestions. Edited because of stupidity, BUDGET LIMIT - 20,000USD.
oh wow, you're dumb.
How so
oh look, it's this thread again.
Swaffles? Is that you?
How about you give us an actual budget?
Technically, you could have infinite memory, GPU and CPU power. I don't think you want a PC that takes up a whole mansion and is worth 500k
yeah this computer will be the BEST for a month, until something newer or better comes out
Get the EVGA 4x sli and put 4 5870's. But seriously an actual budget please.
now can you please give us an actual budget?
Fuck yes, Who wouldn't want 24 monitors!
the dumb thing is none of them would work with what they would give you :crying:
Just buy the Met office's data centre, if it can tell the future, it should be able to run crysis at ~30fps
It's not the best possible, but it's probably the most realistic. I'll sum it up: Four 5870s, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, Core i7 960 (could be overclocked to ridiculous speeds), Some Kickass Soundcard (If you honestly want the best), Windows 7 Ultimate, 5.1 Surround Speakers, and three 30" monitors. You'd still need a case, motherboard, watercooling system, power supply, and anything else I may be forgetting. Final price would probably be around $3000 to $4000.
Updated with a budget.
Jesus Christ man, you could get a fucking supercomputer for that. Today's operating systems can't even support all the shit you can get with a budget like that.
The USD isn't worth much these days, but yeah I guess it's still pretty high.
Buy a bunch of Desktops and wire them together to make your own mini-supercomputer. But I don't know shit about computers, and next post will be about how dumb the above statement is.

Why not a 920? waste of cash.
Where the hell did you acquire 20,000 dollars?
That's none of your business. :colbert:
Get the EVGA 4x sli and put 4 5870's.
If even possible.

The 960 could probably be overclocked further with better stability, but for a lot more money.
WOW you're dumb.
I like how you rate yourself agree. Clearly there's something I don't know hear, so care to explain why 8GB of DDR3 wouldn't be compatible without being an ass? I've got 6GB of DDR3 in a Core i7 setup, so why is 8GB different?
I'll take my time and explain to you why you're dumb, and wrong. DDR3 IS NOT THE SAME AS TRIPLE CHANNEL. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS You can have a i7 960 or a i7 950, or a i7 940, or a i7 920. Doesn't matter, they all overclock about the same. (EE chips usually are guaranteed 4.5 GHz + however) I've seen 920s overclock better than some 950s. don't say shit if you don't know what you're talking about, you'll end up looking like a fool
