I want to see more but have no clue where to start. All of this was like 4 years ago I saw them.
I love anything emotional and truely well written when it comes to film and television. So im up for anything.
Ive heard good things about Death note but thats about it.

You'll get more and better recommendations there. Check out all the Ghost in the Shell series and movies. It's by far the best sci-fi series out there.
Some of my favourites are Fullmetal Alchemist, and Brotherhood. Guilty Crown. Steins;Gate.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I really enjoyed those, and definitely recommend them!

Just Brotherhood and Steins;Gate. Original FMA and Guilty Crown suck.

if you prefer action, you have attack on titan, soul eater, shit like that
Really, the best thing you can do is go somewhere like MAL and rummage around and see what you can find

I don't really think you can put a label like "not suitable for beginners" on a tv show, or I don't understand what you all mean. I would rather you watch whatever seems interesting and worth your time rather than "something easy to watch".
Nothing wrong with bakemonogatari and I can very well see anyone with the interest for it enjoying it, regardless of uh, "anime experience"?
