Hah, even the BBC's reporting on it.
Calling it now, they won't last another 5 years.
Yeah, RIP
I didn't ask for this
Weird, I'm having a deja vu about a thread that was exactly like this one: ME3, and some of the comments...
:tinfoil:
Game customers who have pre-ordered the title will be given £5 in loyalty card reward points.
so like
um
is that it? are they going to give out a refund as well or what?
e. nah, that'd be stupid.
so like

I think they may have had to pay that to secure the preorder (and then pay for the full game later, once it's released)
except now it's basically like you gave them £5 and they gave you it back in a form that can only be spent at their stores
So everyone's down a fiver in exchange for some shitty store credit, and GAME wont be stocking many of the upcoming releases?
Nice one GAME, you had a good run. (Not really)

yeah I'm sure they'd refund people, it'd be ridiculous not to. the article just doesn't mention it

No, you get a full refund of any money you put down plus the £5 gift voucher.
FYI, if you pre-ordered online, they cancel your pre-order, don't charge you anything, and give you £5 credit.
There's fuckall there worth £5 thanks to GAME massively overpricing everything, but i'm trying to find something to buy so that I can just help bankrupt them that little bit more.
Fucking hate GAME, I only ordered from them for those pre-order bonuses, but now there's no way for me to get them since GAME were the only UK seller that gave those pre-order bonuses.
I fucking hate the name GAME
looks like you're yelling GAME every time you type it
As far as I know, based on many replies, I believe GAME is absolute shit.
Literally there is nothing you can get in a GAME store that you cannot buy from Amazon for about £5 cheaper, including shipping.
I've compiled a list of all the decent-ish pc games on GAME for under £5, so if you got a refund like me here are the good games (since the site apparently is incapable of listing shit properly in order of price)

Look at all those 'new' and 'popular' PC games!
Look at all those 'new' and 'popular' PC games!
lmao dude who cares they're all decent computer games, depending on your point of view of them
Not stocking new, hyped releases?
Yeah they're fucked.
They were always shit anyway, back in the day it was the place to be but they abused their popularity and started overpricing and removing most of their pre-owned sections, the only reason anyone would go there these days. Now everyone seems to go to gamestop or some other game shop with a decent pre-owned section. The best are the small little known shops, sometimes you find some stolen new games or something for pretty cheap, that's the only reason i'd ever look at games in shops these days anyway

Gamestop's the same company as GAME. Both are awful, though.
RIP Game.
I went in one yesterday and they were selling the PC version of TF2 for £20. I told one of the workers there and they told me that they knew it was free, but they had to sell it.

Except if you buy TF2 in a retail store, you also get the premium account.
I think.
Yeah, but the point is you can buy a premium account on steam for like £4 and they're selling it for £20.
Don't you get one if you buy like a 0.99 cent item?
Not that it matters to me, bought that game along time ago

In order to buy that 0.99 cent item you have to add £4 to your steam wallet meaning that the minimum possible amount you must spend is £4.
Hopefully the local game around here will leave and Gametraders will come back
Last time I went there, the PC games outnumbered 360/PS3 at least 5:1
And there was even a section of old Genesis / Megadrive / NES games
Didn't they have enough shelf space to stock Mass Effect 3 then?
(referring to their previous excuse)
So does this still affect Australia's GAME? Because I pre-orded and payed in full for my copy

Wow, not only is Mass Effect 3 PC origin-only, but it won't be released in GAME?
Great so now I can't get it on steam or in game
