This is going to be my first build. I need a gaming build that can run most games at high graphics that can still run at a decent FPS. I might plan on getting into modelling and maybe even bitcoin mining.
I'm going to starting from the ground up, so I'm going to need an OS, monitor, keyboard, etc.
I don't have a budget, but I'd like to keep it around or below $1000.

I think I got everything.
There is 1:
Case
Monitor
DVD Player/Burner
Keyboard
Mouse
Hard Drive
Motherboard
Ram
CPU
GPU
PSU
and Operating System.
If you want Windows 8 go ahead and switch for that.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I would prefer a high capacity SSD.
Also could I get a link to the list so I can easily find the parts? Thanks.

If you had a monitor had a mouse and keyboard and a few other parts already then maybe, but with your limited budget, I think a high capacity SSD is out of the question.

I don't really have a budget, but I preferred that I keep it around $1000.
Also, will I need anything like thermal paste or any special tools?
Also, will I need anything like thermal paste or any special tools?
If you trust that intel applied thermal paste correctly then you don't need to buy any (heatsinks come with it pre-applied). As for tools, you shouldn't need anything else.

You'll have to ask someone else about SSD's then, I know little about them.
The Samsung 840 pro is a great SSD
The Samsung 840 pro is a great SSD
Yeah, make sure you get the pro if you go with it. I heard some bad things about the normal ones.
The Samsung 840 pro is a great SSD
I can definitely say that I have not been disappointed so far. I am running Windows 8 on the 128GB version. Windows 8, I shit you not, shuts down and restarts to my lock screen in less than 15 seconds. It takes longer to POST than anything else. :v:
You probably shouldn't bother with a K designated CPU if you're using the stock heatsink.

He could always spend an extra $30 for a nicer heatsink in the future.
So is Period's list of parts (except the HDD that I'm replacing with the Samsung 840) a good thing to go with?
I'd recommend the Bitfenix Shinobi over the Corsair 200R.

It was a LOT cheaper when I bought it, though.

but the 200R comes with the dvd burner so you're adding the $20 from price + tax and then another $20 from adding a dvd burner
oh, didn't notice

Anyone?
Anyone?
Generally it's a good idea to steer away from PSU manufacturers' green series, so I'd recommend the Corsair CX600.
I'm not huge on Asus mobos, but it's your choice really. I prefer Gigabyte and MSI's offerings.
Corsair SSDs are decent
I like how he says "Beginner Build" when that can run battlefield 3 probably on Max settings.....Learn your math bro before putting mess like that. That PC is a beast
In the realm of SSDs, Samsung and Plextor are where it's at.
So should I go with the Coarsair CX600 for the PSU instead?
I'd say so.
Ok, thanks!
