Review: Including benchmarks (Yes, it is in English)
http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=910
AMD is doing really well for themselves lately.
Apparently, there are 4 versions of the Thuban CPUs.
2.6 GHz
2.8 GHz 125W
2.8 GHz 95W
3.2 GHz
Anyone buying one?

Sorry, fixed
I'm still not used to the 3, 6, and I assume to be next 9 core procs.

I don't see how the 980x can be that much faster than the i7 930/Thuban

Looks like the chart's flipping me off :<
[editline]08:35AM[/editline]
"Higher result is better"
from what ive seen it's performance is sort of a middle ground in some areas between the Extreme i7s and the baseline i7s while in other areas the i7s are better.
Not the 6-core badass people were hoping for AMD to make, but not disappointing either
It's pretty obvious the chart's full of shit one way or another.

If you look at the price, it's amazing.

Is it just me or is this kinda awesome value for the money?

It is, AMD has always been cheaper, and they are awesome when it comes to reusing sockets.

Wow, I built my comp in November of 09, and my mobo can't use thuban :/

I cannot be any happier with the 6 core's price, performance, and ability to use old sockets. I am in looooove.
Not to mention that tiger direct is giving a 50 dollar mail in rebate!
Also some over-clocking business. Might be helpful to some people.

Happy 6 core adventures!
Edit: anikilol, maybe they just aren't updated yet? I hope at is the case. Perhaps they hit a road block and it'll be up later? Sounds weird that a board from 09 wouldn't get support....

Yeah, it was made in October or September I believe.
Would this work on this board? http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodmbspec&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=1592

Patches for the game.
Really, the question is,
When will games even support hexa cores?
Not really impressed, then again I guess it's pretty cheap (which I am guessing, haven't really checked other CPUs' prices in a while, so I don't know).
[editline]07:23PM[/editline]
Going by the HC benchmarks.

eventually when they are more mainstream

Right now dual cores are mainstream, so it looks like we have a long way to go :/
