INDIANAPOLIS -- Kevin Ware is already up and walking, and he's got a nice souvenir to keep him company until he's cleared to return to Louisville.
Cardinals coach Rick Pitino brought the Midwest Regional championship trophy when he visited Ware, who remains hospitalized after surgery to repair a gruesome fracture in his right leg.
"He was real excited about (the trophy)," Pitino said after visiting Ware again Monday morning. "I said to him, `You want me to bring it back or stay with you?' He said, `It's staying with me.' I said, `All right, just make sure you don't lose it."'
Warning: You need a fucking strong stomach to endure what you will see in this link, be warned

E: Ye I'm aware it happened on Easter but I found no threads on it.
Worst thing ive ever seen.
All i saw on twitter was "#PrayForWare" and "RT THIS IS MANY TIMES" for a solid 2 days. Retweeting thing's isnt going to make someones leg heal faster...
I saw it live and it was fucking crazy.
Here's the picture of the injury

The picture is on the video so that's why I didn't media it
Maybe it's just me, but I can't tell or see anything in that gif.
Saw this live and had the exact same reaction as the players on the bench. Whats sucks is that it could be a career finisher or he wont be playing for a very long time.
And he stayed conscious? Damn, that's some willpower there.

I think I just threw up a little
sweet mother oh god how does something like that even happen
OH SHIT I was not expecting that at all. I heard my Grandfather reacting to something on the TV yesterday and saw the game later but had no idea this had happen.
Also I do not see how that man did not pass out because of that
It's like you can just sense the pain
Holy shit, i was eating a cookie while clicking the link lol
And he's an athlete. I want to know what kind of forces your body takes while playing basketball or if he somehow had some sort of weak bone condition.

They said that the chances of this happening is very rare and he might of had a stress fracture? or something like that but the chances of this happening in general is very slim.
apparently he had a pre existing stress fracture that he didnt know about, like a small one that was apparently enough to fuck his leg when he tried to block the shot.
A couple days ago I saw a video of an icehockey player getting his throat slit by a skate, felt sick for the next hour or so and I mean really really sick in my stomach almost puking my guts out sick. This is nothing compared to that.

Did the player survive?

Holy fuck man.
Did the player survive?
His coach grabbed into his throat and clamped his arteries until medics arived. He lived, was out of the hospital a week later.
Also the guy just stood back up while blood was literally gushing out of his throat. A couple people in the audience had a heart attack and a couple players puked. The match was resumed.
Did the player survive?
afaik yes
if i saw the same thing he saw, son of a bitch got his jugular sliced and still pulled through
this injury had us all joking about not wanting to jump when playing basketball this morning
i seriously went to jump in almost the exact way Ware did to block a shot and landed on my ankle, gave me quite the fucking scare, felt like not much more and my ankle would have just ripped through the skin

Was it a goalie or a skater? If it was a goalie, he was a Buffalo Sabre. If it was a skater, it was the Florida Panther guy
But holy shit I saw the pic and oh my fucking god. How did he stay awake for that

It was the panthers guy, Richard Zedník.

Sorry to derail, just wanted to ensure. The Sabre (Goalie) was Clint Malarchuk, the Florida Panther was Richard Zednik.
Thank god the thumbnails on those videos aren't of the action.

I'm gonna put my amateur detective cap on and say adrenaline.

It wasn't a knee or ankle injury so he'll be perfectly fine in a couple months
It was the panthers guy, Richard Zedník.
Thats what I thought. I remember watching that game live. Scary shit
It wasn't a knee or ankle injury so he'll be perfectly fine in a couple months
Joe Thiesmann (career ended), and Michael Bush (missed his senior year in college after the 1st game, most of his rookie year, and millions of dollars) would seriously beg to differ.
The kid is out next year at a bare minimum, if he can even play again.
I don't think this is as bad as the football guy where you could hear the crack through the T.V and I think almost through the whole stadium cause there was so much pressure.
Also that famous kickboxer video where he kicks the other guy's leg and it his own leg just becomes jelly and he falls back on it lol. That one made me laugh my ass off for some reason.
I think everyone has seen that but here it is Kinda NSFW
