• Computer Freezes, audio continues fine.

Hello, I've experienced this more than once, and it just happened again. But randomly, my computer will freeze, yet the audio continues as if nothing has happened. If I'm on skype, people can hear me fine. My drivers and shit are up to date, and the only critical in the event viewer is where I had to hard reset my computer. My temps and voltages all stay within the safe areas. Is it my display driver crashing? Anyways, my specs are: Q8400 Radeon 5750 6 gigabytes of DDR2 ram Two Sata HDD's Antec Neo Eco 620c Peripherals at the time: Mouse (USB) Keyboard (PS/2) Headphones (3.5mm)
Thanks, I use Avast! normally, but I tried that CPU thing. I'll see if it works.
Okay, that didn't help. I'm going to sweep my drivers then reinstall them fresh. Let us see if that helps. [editline]31st December 2011[/editline] Alright, Driver sweeped. Display drivers are reinstalled, should I bother reinstalling the Realtek HD drivers? Or are the standard Microsoft ones good enough? The equalizer certainly works better.
Had to install the Realtek drivers for Skype to work. Anyways, I'll update the thread if I freeze again.
You could try restarting the renderer by fullscreening then windowing something.
Alright, freezes didn't stop. They've slowly started changing though which is weird. Like, I was messing around in FL Studio, all of a sudden the sound started looping, then it froze, and my mouse continued to work. When I tried to bring up the task manager to close FL, it didn't come up. When I tried to click steam chat, the computer froze. Did my install of Windows manage to corrupt itself or something? Is this an issue with my integrated sound card?
My computer does this as well when I get the graphics driver crash (I'm 99% sure it's that as it looks exactly like it when it crashes, severe artifacting everywhere at random, etc), and now it's happened twice more today making a total of 6, 4 locking up the computer entirely. Started when I installed this 560 Ti and a 600w PSU.
I'm saving up for a new GPU right now, Hopefully that will stop it. But it's going to be a long wait.

I'm not too sure though, can you move files to the HDD at a decent speed? If it's not that, how hot is your GPU running? Windows usually tells you that the GPU driver has stopped working though when it restarts it.
Could aswell be faulty RAM.
My GPU, in situations like that varies anyways from 28 to 35c. Never higher unless under full load, then it rarely hits 50. My cpu can get on the hot side on full load, normally around 71c, but idle, it's anywhere from 38 to 41. Its TJ is 100c. My HDD has always been noisy, but I can move stuff fine, and never encounter any errors that are caused by hard drives. I would try to run Memtest, but I don't have a dvd drive, or even an extra SATA cord. Is there a way to memtest from within Windows? And what is that command that scans for corrupted OS files? I remember having to use it on Vista when my install committed suicide slowly.
Hello guy hope fully some of you have an idea which cause that. I am having the same issue, happening most of the time o TF2, skype run fine i hear a big buzz sound , and cannot do anything unless holding power bouton. alt+del none of anything work. as the pc restart, i got an asus surge protection evenLog System - Provider [ Name] EventLog - EventID 6008 [ Qualifiers] 32768 Level 2 Task 0 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2016-11-17T01:04:18.000000000Z EventRecordID 97062 Channel System Computer xxxxxxxx Security - EventData 8:01:47 PM ‎11/‎16/‎2016 3842 E0070B0003001000140001002F006D02E0070B0004001100010001002F006D02600900003C000000010000006009000000000000B00400000100000000000000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Binary data: In Words 0000: 000B07E0 00100003 00010014 026D002F 0008: 000B07E0 00110004 00010001 026D002F 0010: 00000960 0000003C 00000001 00000960 0018: 00000000 000004B0 00000001 00000000 In Bytes 0000: E0 07 0B 00 03 00 10 00 à....... 0008: 14 00 01 00 2F 00 6D 02 ..../.m. 0010: E0 07 0B 00 04 00 11 00 à....... 0018: 01 00 01 00 2F 00 6D 02 ..../.m. 0020: 60 09 00 00 3C 00 00 00 `...<... 0028: 01 00 00 00 60 09 00 00 ....`... 0030: 00 00 00 00 B0 04 00 00 ....°... 0038: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
OP, i'd suspect the graphics card is starting to go. Try using on board if you can and see how the system behaves.
