• A small problem Regarding Skins.

I find more often than not whenever I download and extract a skin to the proper directory being c:/program files/steam/steamapps/myname/teamfortress2/tf that sometimes the skin will not even appear not working at all keeping everything as it was. The problem is not missing textures or a model it's just that the skin will not even show up at all I am fully aware of Sv_pure and I always test my skins on a server I am sure is not sv_pure. So could someone tell me what I am doing wrong or provide any advice? (I get my skins from Game banana) My theory is that I extract it to a more specific directory. would that work ? and if so give me an example of what I would have to name the new folders or the path if I want to replace a skin give me an example for a character model and a skin please.
Try extracting the folder on desktop and if its just a specific skin then move it to the specific director where it should go ie. gun1 etc. within your steamapps directory, if all else fails go back to the page where you got the download and see if other users have had similar issues with the one in question or see if they put up an extraction guide.
I'll try that Out and See how it Turns out [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] Hmm Still no Luck I Delted all the files of my old skin and extracted the files to the desktop In my Case I am trying to get a pyro skin to work at the moment so I take the folder marked models and copy all the files from the folder moving them to steam/steamapps/myname/team fortress 2/tf/models/player/Pyro . Than I did the same with materials moving the files to /program files/steam/steamapps/teamfortress 2/tf/materials/models/player/pyro . After doing all that everything is still the same And checking the page nobody else has had any trouble with the skin. I must be doing something wrong .
